My passion for marketing, event management and sustainable brand building began in my home country, where I started my brand and worked on creative projects. As my experience grew, I became increasingly interested in how brands can expand beyond local markets and create impact on an international scale. This desire to scale my work globally, while building something meaningful and responsible, led me to pursue a Master’s degree in International Sustainable Business Strategy at Technological University of the Shannon (TUS).

I chose TUS because of its strong emphasis on practical learning, strategic thinking, and real-world application. The programme allowed me to explore how sustainability can be embedded into business decision-making, international marketing, and brand strategy, rather than treated as an afterthought. This aligned closely with my interest in creating brands and experiences that are not only commercially successful, but also socially and environmentally conscious.

During my time at TUS, I was actively involved in student life alongside my studies. I served as a Student Ambassador and was the Class Representative, roles that allowed me to support fellow students, represent student perspectives, and work closely with academic and professional staff. These experiences strengthened my leadership, communication, and advocacy skills, while also reinforcing the importance of inclusivity, collaboration, and community within higher education.

Academically, the course deepened my understanding of international marketing, sustainable business models, and strategic brand development, while challenging me to think critically about long-term impact and ethical decision-making. Balancing my studies with work, leadership responsibilities, and personal commitments further developed my resilience, adaptability, and time-management skills.

TUS played a key role in shaping my professional journey by providing an environment where I could connect creativity with strategy and sustainability. It helped me bridge the gap between my entrepreneurial ambitions and the practical skills needed to build and scale brands in an international and increasingly sustainability-focused marketplace.

Today, I continue to develop my career across marketing, events, and brand development, with a growing focus on sustainability and international markets. As a Graduate Alumni Ambassador, I am proud to represent TUS and to contribute to a community that supported my growth and encouraged me to think globally, act responsibly, and lead with purpose.

My advice to current students is to fully engage with both academic and extracurricular opportunities. Taking on leadership roles, participating in projects, and embracing new challenges can significantly shape your confidence, perspective, and career direction long after graduation.
