TUS Alumni recently marked an exciting milestone with our first-ever alumni gathering in London, bringing together graduates from across TUS campuses for an evening of connection, conversation and celebration.

Hosted at the Embassy of Ireland in London by Ambassador Sonja Hyland, the event provided a fantastic opportunity for alumni living in the UK to reconnect with TUS and with one another, while also meeting fellow graduates from across the University.

The evening highlighted the strength and diversity of the TUS alumni community, with graduates from a range of disciplines and campuses coming together and sharing their experiences of life after TUS.

Following the success of the gathering, we have also created a dedicated TUS London Alumni Chapter on the TUS Alumni Portal. The chapter provides a space for alumni based in London to connect with one another and keep up to date with future events and opportunities to engage with the TUS community. Celebrating TUS alumni success

The London gathering also came at an exciting time for Dr. Shubham Jain, a TUS PhD graduate in Artificial Intelligence, who was nominated for the International Alumni Award at the 2026 PIEoneer Awards.

On the Friday night, members of the TUS team attended the PIEoneer Awards at The Guildhall in London, where Shubham was recognised alongside alumni from institutions around the world.

Shubham has gone on to build an impressive career in artificial intelligence. He currently leads a generative AI research team at Yahoo and also lectures at University College Dublin. Alongside his work in industry and academia, he works with AI startups focused on areas including enterprise knowledge and healthcare.

While Shubham did not take home the award on the night, his nomination was a fantastic achievement and a proud moment for TUS and the wider alumni community.

Shubham remains closely connected to TUS and is passionate about supporting current students, researchers and fellow alumni.

Staying connected

Events like our London gathering are an important part of building a connected global TUS alumni community. Whether alumni are living in Ireland or further afield, we want to create opportunities to reconnect with TUS, meet fellow graduates and continue those relationships long after graduation.
