Chai to Chill Winds: My Student Life at TUS
If someone had told me a few years ago that I would leave sunny India, move to Ireland, switch from a clinical background to medical technology regulations, and end up proudly serving as a Graduate Alumni Ambassador I probably would’ve laughed and asked for a cup of chai.
But here I am: living proof that life becomes beautiful and sometimes hilarious when you step into the unknown.
IND ➜ IRL A Journey That Began with Courage (and Extra Chilli Powder)
With a B.Sc. in Physician Assistant Studies, I was always close to patient care. While working in the Gynaecology and Obstetrics department, I became fascinated by the technology that supported every moment, especially doppler machines and ultrasound scanners that helped monitor both mother and baby so accurately.
Watching these devices in action made me wonder: Who makes sure this equipment is safe, reliable, and ready when it’s needed most?
That curiosity, combined with my love for healthcare, inspired me to pursue the Master’s in Process Validation & Regulatory Affairs in Medical Technology at TUS -where my clinical experience finally connected with the world of medical technology.
New Country, New Weather, New Everything
My suitcase on arrival had more spices than winter clothes. A rookie mistake I corrected very quickly.
My first few weeks in Ireland were… educational. I discovered:
· Google Maps gets very creative in Irish weather.
· People speak fast but laugh even faster.
· Every person you meet warns you about the rain-but no one warns you about the wind.
“Do not underestimate Irish winds. Ever.”
Still, with every confusing bus route and every new accent I learned to decode, I grew. I was adjusting, adapting, and slowly but surely building a life far from home.
I strongly believed that Growth happens outside your comfort zone… usually while holding an umbrella that’s flipping inside out.”
Life After Classes: Where Badminton Became Therapy
My classmates and I practically lived in the TUS Sports Arena in the evenings, where badminton became our favourite routine.
There was always someone shouting, “One last game!” There was always someone pretending that losing didn’t matter. And there was always, always laughter.
“Sports + friends = the best kind of stress relief.”
The Unexpected Leadership Chapter: Class Representative
Somewhere between navigating Irish buses and smashing badminton shuttles, I found myself elected as the Class Representative. It was a role that taught me:
· how to speak up,
· how to listen more,
· and how to be the steady link between students and staff.
It pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way possible.
Challenges, Growth & Everything In Between
Was it easy moving to a new country? Absolutely not.
Was it worth it? Every single moment.
Facing a new academic system, adapting to a different culture, and choosing a field different from my bachelor’s was challenging but every step taught me resilience, confidence, and a better version of myself.
I now own more rain jackets than traditional Indian outfits. “Adaptation level: expert.”
Now Proudly a TUS Graduate Alumni Ambassador
Looking back, my TUS journey feels like a story of courage, curiosity, community, and countless unforgettable moments.
From the sports arena to classrooms, from adjusting to Irish weather to finding my voice as a class representative every experience shaped me.
And now, standing proudly as a TUS Graduate Alumni Ambassador, I’m excited to share my journey, support future students, and represent a place that truly feels like my second home.
Studying here? Life-changing!
I've levelled up academically, built a global squad of friends, and ignited my passion for cross-cultural innovation.
